Quincy, IL Photographer ~ Once upon a time there was just a girl & her camera…

Goodness gracious blog, it’s been far too long since I’ve updated you…. I’ve missed you! No, I have not been eating bon bons and watching re-runs on Bravo, although that sounds like a plan for an afternoon in my near future. : ) I have been a busy girl with sessions & my ribbon cutting for the studio! Woo woo!!

It all went down this past Thursday and we had a fabulous turn out. I can’t describe the gratefulness that wells up inside of me each time I take a step back and realize where I am in life. I have an amazing support system and the job of my dreams. Thank you to everyone who came, or who couldn’t but whose thoughts were with me. Thank you to Lisa & Heather of Fleur Bloom for giving away such a pretty basket of Fleur Bloom goodies! {which is still up for grabs by the way, check out Facebook for the details}

Thank you Quincy Chamber of Commerce for having the event and for all of the members who took time out of their day to come! Thank you to the man in my life who makes nearly everything possible ~ you keep my dreaming. And thank you to my parents for all of your unconditional love and encouragement. I am such a lucky, lucky girl..or I’m blessed I’m not sure, or maybe a little bit of both. : ) {why does it feel like I just won an award? ha!} Without further a-do, here’s a peek at what you may have missed…

Ribbon Cutting

Of course we had to have treats, no JLP party could be complete without them : )

Quincy, IL photographer

Yummmm, these cookies were soft and so dericious!

Quincy, IL photographer

Sophistication in a bottle! I feel so cool when I drink these : )

Quincy, IL Photographer

I'm pretty sure half of wal-mart heard my discovery of these Cracker Jacks. I have not had these since I was a kid and I used to enjoy them regularly with my mom : ) They taste just as yummy as I remember, but I somehow I remember the prizes being much cooler.

Cupcakes aren't real cupcakes without sprinkles, fyi. Oh and these frosted animal crackers were the hit of the party : )

Quincy, IL Photographer

Goodie bags with some bling!

Quincy, IL PHotographer

Of course the procrastinator I am, these weren't being made until 2am the night before. At which time my boyfriend & I dubbed them as "Party Poms" Spread the word, that's their name. : )

Thank you SO MUCH! I LOOOOVE viewing other photographer’s studios! I’ve been working out of my home for a few years now in a 8×12 foot shooting area, but…..hopefully someday I’ll have a fabulous studio space to show off! Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi! Congratulations from Eastern Canada! The studio looks awesome!

My three fave things from this post are:

1-the way you have your office laid out so that you can see if someone comes in the door!
2-the rosettes theme throughout your opening!
3-obviously the studio!! looks great!!

oh ok 4. i love your braid too, because i can never get them to work on myself so i understand the excitement!

amie - November 23, 2011 - 8:40 am

i love your print of the camera on the wall, do you mind sharing where you purchased that? amie
