Quincy, IL Newborn Photographer ~ Welcome Little Logan

I met the Mays about 6 months ago at their fun, fall family session. I was so excited to be contacted for Logan’s newborn session this spring. We decided that a home session would be the most convenient for them, and best suit their natural, laid-back style. Logan was a perfect little bundle and I couldn’t stop admiring his head of hair. We had a lively session; Jake danced to Logan’s crib toy, we played with a silly ball, romped around on the bed, and read the story Stuck.

I loved our afternoon, thank you Laura & Andrew for inviting me into your home, your family is precious. : )

Quincy, IL Photographer ~ The Saint Louis Zoo

There are many luxuries I miss about big cities when I’m away, of course the food and the shopping ~ and when I’m away from Chicago, the sports. :0) But the zoo is one of my favorite places to visit when we have the kiddos with us. It’s extra magical in the spring time when all the babies are making their debuts! I always wish they had a few more bears: polar, panda, and koala to be exact, but other than that the STL Zoo is quite perfect. My favorites this trip were the elephants and the lemurs, which it is no coincidence that those were the only animals we saw with babies! I’m pretty certain that the elephants were smiling for my camera, as you might notice below. I hope you enjoy, and get yourself to the zoo this year! :0)

Maybe you should shoot for National Geographic?

Have a yummy easter

Are there any other moms like me who don’t understand the point of coloring eggs? All the work and mess, and then what do you do with them? When I’ve colored eggs with the kids in the past, they are all about it until the 4th egg, then their attention spans have left me dying the rest on my own. So much to my delight, this year I found them already boiled and dyed for me at the grocery store, and ready for my kids to put stickers on, hooray! :0)

I understand my actions of lazily buying them pre-made might be a bit unconventional, but no worries, my children do get to enjoy other Easter festivities. Like yesterday, we made tasty treats, possibly too cute to eat. These little robin egg nests are so simple and yummy; it’s a win, win! To make them, you follow the directions on a Rice Krispie box to make normal treats, and then before they cool, place them in mini muffin pan to give the shape of a nest. After you’ve shaped them, put your robin eggs in to make the nest complete! If you want to get really crafty, place grass in the nest using coconut you’ve dyed green. The total time for this treat was approximately 20 minutes start to finish. Check out Pinterest for other cute easter ideas!

I hope you have a safe and special easter with the people you love :0)
