Photography Planning
Please be advised that with the ease taking photos and video on cell phones, your guests may be excited to help capture your day, but in doing so they may actually prohibit me from taking the photos in a way that I need to. For example, this commonly occurs with guests in the isle during the ceremony, guests on the dance floor for the first dances, and guests blocking me to capture cake shots. If this is a concern for you, some good ways to handle it may be for your officiate of the ceremony to kindly announce it as guests are gathering; place a friendly a note about it on your program, have the greeters at your ceremony specify it to your guests; and/or have the DJ announce it at the reception. Most of your guests will be happily understand your request! If a guest is in the way of myself or my assistant, it is out of my control if any shots are not properly captured.
Do you have a specific location in mind for the location of your couple and wedding party shots? If so, please describe and list the address(es). If not, do you have any ideas of what you're envisioning? Please describe
A first look is when you meet the groom in a special way and location that I arrange before the ceremony. Most of my couples elect to do this so that all of their photos can be finished before the ceremony, except usually family photos. This allows you to take less time out between the ceremony & reception which makes guests, and YOU, happier!
Please view my portfolio and note that I am not a traditional photographer and many of the images I capture are candid. We do take time to photograph posed sets, but throughout the day my focus is to document.
If nothing specific, please describe general shots that appeal to you the most.
Would you like individual photos of you and the groom with each wedding party member? *
Ex: Wedding party jumping, the groom with bridesmaids, etc.
If you do, please copy and paste the link to your board. This will help me understand your style and what you're envisioning for your day and wedding photos!
I like to know everything special and important about your day so that I make sure to photograph it. Below, I’ve listed some common shot requests to help you understand what this list is. This is a list I use for organizational purposes and I do my best to complete the requested shots you include. Due to the unpredictable nature of a wedding day, no shot is ever guaranteed, but I always do my best. Examples: We're exchanging love letters while getting ready; My grandmother's brooch is in my bouquet; I HAVE to have one of the girls and me jumping on our hotel bed while getting ready; When my dad first sees me; we're driving away in my uncle's vintage car; etc.
wedding day timeline
Keep in mind that you may need little breaks throughout your day for the restroom, a drink or snack, make-up and hair touch ups, etc. A primary break might be needed before your reception entrance. It is a good idea to have a Bridal Emergency Kit on hand, either in your purse, or with your maid of honor.
Do you anticipate to make further changes to this timeline? *
If so, please send me the most up to date timeline you have now, and send the revised timeline the week of the wedding by email.
